Wooden Wall Art

The multi-day process is tedious and tempermental.  After adherring the image, facedown onto the wood and letting it set overnight, the photo (and more importantly the inks from the photo) are stuck to the wood.

Then next day, the paper from the back of the photo is slowly, and extremely carefully, removed.  The inks from the image remain on the wood and the reversed image is now visible.

The piece is then stained, finished with polyurethane to protect the surface, and finally sanded.

All wooden pieces displayed below are one-of-a-kind.  Even two pieces that have the same beginning photos end up ifferent.  The transcribing process creates grooves, scratches, marrs, and marks that are retained on the final piece.

Each wooden wall art piece is titled, signed, and dated on the back.
